SIMA currently have a vacancy for a Program coordinator.
The Sydney Improvised Music Association Inc. (SIMA) is a not for profit incorporated association and is a leading organisation in the jazz sector committed to facilitating the performance of contemporary jazz and improvised music.
We are a leading national contemporary jazz organisation, presenting around 100 performances and events throughout the year from professional performances through to industry support and young women in jazz workshops.
This is a central role for the organisation liaising on a daily basis with artists, developing and implementing marketing strategies and managing the day to day running of the office.
Specifically, you will manage all facets of the regular program including booking and contracting artists and liaison with production of performances. This will be coupled with promotion of our program and managing the day to day running of our office.
You will have experience in artist coordination and marketing, with solid writing and proofreading skills to ensure the delivery of our bi-monthly program and our regular weekly bulletin. You will be able to demonstrate organisational and administration ability, including an eye for detail and a strength in record-keeping.
It is also essential that you have a proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, be self-motivated and determined, and to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.
The person we are looking for will:
- Have experience in coordination and the performing arts.
- Have experience with marketing and promotion.
- Have experience managing the day to day operations of an office.

This is 3 day a week role, commencing mid June. However we are also covering a maternity leave absence and could offer 4 days a week to mid November, with the role also including publicity.
